Attack and Defensive System Workshop - November 8th, San Francisco - CANCELLED

This is a one-day workshop that will cover everything you need to know to develop the ideal attack and defensive system for your teamOne of the most frustrating aspects of coaching is seeing the team not implement the tactics and skills that are worked on in practice. This workshop will take coaches through the steps to identify the core principles of their attack and defense, and then link those principles to how they run practice. This approach ensures that the players will be able to execute the attacking and defensive systems in the games. Coaches will also learn how to problem solve and indentify weaknesses in their team’s play. Using the principles approach will give the coach the framework to very quickly indentify a tactical weakness or skill deficiency. A great challenge for a coach is to identify what to work on throughout the season. The workshop will cover how to plan for the season, and then drill down to what to work on in each practice. The “Principle Approach” enables the coach to understand exactly what skills and tactics the players need to execute to implement the coaches approach to the game. Using the “Principle Approach,” Coaches will understand how to make their practices more efficient and effective in impacting play in matches. New tools and techniques will enable the players will be able to transfer what they learn at practice more effectively at game time, thus making practice more efficient. Peter Baggetta is the current USA Rugby Defense Specialist and Head Coach of Gonzaga High School. Peter has worked with teams at all levels from international with Guam and the USA Women, as well as tge elite club with PAC. Pete Steinberg is the current Head Coach of the Penn State Women’s team, the 5-time National Champions and the Keystone Rugby club. Pete has worked with elite teams including the USA Hawks, the USA Women’s National 7s and 15s team and was the head coach when the MARFU Sharks won their only National Title in 2005.
